Heading to the Portuguese capital in October felt like a risky chance to take weather wise, but I’d already made my mind up earlier in the year - before like got heavy - that I’ve choose the middle of autumn to visit and i wasn’t going to let weather be a deciding factor for me. Although Lisbon in the sunshine is something not to be missed.
In the lead up to the trip I was constantly checking the weather forecast and couldn’t believe my eyes at the predicted temps and consistent weather. I’m sorry, mid October and it’s 28 degrees?! I was excited to still be able to pack for summer seeing as i hadn’t had to chance to put everything away following my Gran Canaria holiday earlier in the year.
All I could think was, dress cute and cool, stick trainers on and you’re good for whatever is thrown your way. And I was right! But cor blimey, was it hot.
When packing for a trip to Lisbon, I can’t stress this enough, but pack trainers or something good for lots of walking and steep inclines. I took a couple of pairs on New Balance trainers (because they are the comfiest footwear I own) and a pair or wedges in case I went anywhere local for dinner (they came home unworn).

The final day was just a mixture of outfits I’d already worn because of travelling home, how they weren’t gross and sweaty by that point is beyond me.
I was so so lucky with the weather whilst I was there, just a couple of weeks after I returned home, the weather turned awful and rainy and stormy, I couldn’t believe how lucky I’d been.
Clearly you’ll need to check the weather when you’re visiting but given the weather I had, I loved getting to dress cute and take photos with gorgeous backdrops and heavenly blue skies.
