February pretty much whizzed by in a blur (I can’t believe it’s already March when I’m writing this, like what in the actual heck?) so naturally I barely even remember what I did this month other than feel like I was in the midst of an existential crisis - nothing new there then. Present me is always immensely grateful to past me for having the foresight to make note of my consumed media so I’m not left baffled each time I write these (although there are always the rogue ones that get away - I’m sure).
It’s been a month of live music, new releases, TV that had me squealing and kicking my feet, and I book I half listened/half physical read. You can bet I’ll make the most of my free Spotify audiobook hours, and when they run out I’ll continue reading the physical/digital book.
The way I’ve ploughed through TV shows this month is mildly concerning, I swear I have a life, but also the weather has still been more miss than hit so I’ve spent a little extra time at home than usual. My top picks have been the Take That documentary (which I actually still need to finish lol), Younger because it’s such an easy watch that you can’t tear yourself away from, Paradise because I don’t know what’s happening but I’m hooked and ready to watch the new season and The Beast In Me because what a wild ride that was!
My reading has been super down this month, although I did read a Paige Toon book which felt bizarrely nostalgic despite not having experienced any of what the character did, maybe it’s the thought of her mum living and experiencing Rome in her youth just like my own mum did, and the mention of the area she lived in. It felt like I just needed to read that book when I did.
Jordan Davis has heavily been pouring out of my headphones throughout February, getting me ready to see him live at the end of the month - he was incredible - and now I can’t stop listening to him anyway. The new Hilary Duff album wasn’t quite what I expected but is currently proving to be the perfect album to write to (fuelling this post in fact) and the more I listen, the more I love it. And of course, my fave fave fave Ella Langley dropping Be Her which I’m already calling my song of 2026 even though it was released mid Feb, it’s that marvellous and I’ve had it on heavy repeat since the day it was released. No notes Ella, my girl, no notes at all.
