XXI: TWENTY ONE

That time of year has rolled around again, the one where I wonder how I've survived another year and been deemed a year older, my brain hasn't quite got that memo yet. Every year I like to think back on the things I've done, whether it's been a tour I've done multiple shows of, people I've met, places I've visited or just memories I've made.

Last year I celebrated the end of my teens by having 19 tattooed in roman numerals on my arm. This year... I didn't gain any new tattoos despite coming close on more than a few occasions.

To be quite frank, the first year of my twenties was pretty much an emotional rollercoaster.
This year I have:

- Celebrated the start of my twenties by seeing 5 Seconds of Summer in London
- Been a bridesmaids at my cousins wedding (oh my god when did we all grow up?!)
- Visited my favourite city with my best friend
- Decided on University
- Visited London during London Fashion Week
- Seen  a concert a Wembley Stadium (oh. my. god.)
- Started working full time
- Seen my favourite band live with my best friend
- Dealt with my favourite band splitting up by going to 7 of their shows on their farewell tour
- Attended my first fashion event
- Had 3 job interviews (my very first ones!)
- Opened and run a fragrance shop
- Started my YouTube channel
- Travelled to various parts of the country
- Been the most sunburnt I have ever been in my life
- Finished my college course with better grades than I could possibly imagined (I was genuinely proud of myself at the end)

And the list goes on.

Tomorrow I turn 21 and it's somewhat scary, part of me feels terribly indifferent. I can't do anything more than I can do right now (other than legally drinking in the US) but it also seems so final, like now is the time to really grow up and be an adult.

I think I'm ready to be an adult, get my life in order, get my weight in order and accomplish things I really want.

Your life can only be achieved by yourself so now it's my time to really start living.

Time to raise a glass of (punk) champagne and celebrate the beginning of a new chapter.

WHAT THE FLARE?!

The best (and worst) part of fashion is that everything is recycled. We all know that every so often the fashion industry revisits a past decade of clothing that some adored, and many feared seeing again. 2014 has seen a major seventies/nineties craze again with chokers, platform shoes and...flares.

For the past few years, the words flares, wide leg and bootcut have haunted me. Especially during my emo phase. Such pants have made me wince and scrunch my nose up and made me feel repulsed. To be quite frank, my thoughts probably would have remained much the same if I hadn't seen Danielle Bernstein rocking a pair of bootleg jeans a few months back, or become so cringe-worthy obsessed with Megan Ellaby's (Pages By Megan) style. Thanks to Megan, I feel like a new woman and have been trawling ASOS, amongst other sites, for a pair of wide leg's that I must have. Admittedly, I've found far too many.

However, I am more than aware that many people still share my former thoughts on such trousers so I'm here to share some pictures, and my top online item picks, to sway you over to the dark side. ...Sorry?
Doesn't Megan make them look incredible?!

Are you sold yet?

VLOG | THE BRITISH TAG

The British Tag has been circulating vlogger's Youtube channels for a few months, so as usual I jumped on the bandwagon, only forgetting to post it until a couple of months later.

This is my very first vlog and I'm all kinds of excited about it! Firstly, apologies for my voice being so quiet in the video, I didn't realise until I had filmed the whole thing so I'll definitely sort it out for my next one.

I hope it's not too rubbish. Please please please leave a comment, give a thumbs up or subscribe to my channel!

COMPANY BLOGGERS STYLE THE HIGH STREET

Somewhere in between a busy month of travelling the country for concerts, I found time to attend the Company Bloggers Style the High Street event in London last Thursday!

I'll admit, I was a little apprehensive about attending alone, I'm not very talkative with people I don't know, I lack confidence and I'd rather stand around awkwardly than approach someone. This is genuinely what I did for about 40 minutes, as well as wandering the upstairs of the incredible venue. In fact, I was so out of my comfort zone, I drank vodka. Yuck,
I felt a lot more comfortable and at ease once I was seated for the fashion show, I chatted to a few fellow bloggers on my table who were also there alone, and suddenly my attitude had shifted completely.
It was incredible to see the different stylings from the chosen bloggers, seeing how they showcased the current high street items.

The absolute highlights had to be Megan for ASOS, Emma for M&S and Kavita for River Island.

I'm itching for more faux fur now!
These are the lovelies ladies I met, Renata & Shanique, so thankful I had some bloggers to share the evening with.
The after party was fun and lively with a DJ set from Bargrooves and a bar courtesy of Cavoda Vodka.
This was my outfit for the evening, as I was away for 4 days, I needed something that wouldn't crease easy, would be practical and not take up too much suitcase space!
Everyone attendee was given a goodie bag, I only purchased a standard ticket but still received a fantastic bag. Here is what I received!
It was also so wonderful to see Laura of The Pixie Cut, isn't she just the sweetest?!

The night turned out wonderfully and has given me a little more confidence to attend more events now.

Did any of you attend?

Stay amazing xo
