THE FOOTBALL STYLE EDIT: SPAIN 26 AWAY SHIRT

There are times when I'm incredibly restrained and disciplined, it's truly remarkable. But then there are times where I massively counteract this with a lack of self-restraint. Actually, in this case I exercised a little bit of both.

During the World Cup this year, I very much enjoyed seeing different kits, the home versus the away shirts, (Belgium, I adore your current away shirt, chefs kiss), it was like window shopping for a very long time (5 weeks of it).

The moment my eyes landed on Spain's away shirt, I was in love (and if it was seeing Ferran Torres in it, mind your damn business and move along), it's so classy and timeless, it looks gorgeous on the players and the fans alike. Basically it was my dream in a shirt, just a team I was trying not to root for on the side.

Obviously I was supporting England through and through, but rooting for other teams that don't have direct competition with your team gives you another focus during the tournament. Portugal are always a given with me, but I have such a soft spot for Spain (aside from the 2024 Euro's obvs), with Rodri captaining the team this tournament, and 3 ex-City players in the squad, it's hard not to love them. Plus, what a blinder of a campaign they had.

The more I saw it over the World Cup, the more I reaaaaaally wanted it, it became more of a need than a want. Jokingly, before the final, I thought 'if Spain win the World Cup and Ferran scores the winner, I'll buy the shirt' not actually believing that sequence of events would quite literally happen. Well, what can I say? I'm a woman of my word.

Football shirts form a very expensive collection, however I have find a personal hack where I still (thankfully) fit into most brands kids size 15-16. The children's XL is very similar in size to men's S and not quite as long, and at £20 or so less per shirt, I can justify buying more with the savings. I've found this works well for Puma and Adidas, Nike I haven't even tried because the largest children's shirt look tiny so I had to opt for an adults small for my newest England shirt.

I really had no clue how to style this at first, it looks like it would go with everything, but I didn't want to go for shorts or denim, it's too classy. It's also cream so white is immediately eliminated from being worn alongside it. Then I spied this golden yellow satin midi skirt that I bought in the sale from Zara, it's gorgeous and perfectly matches the golden in the shirt. Paired with my Next yellow square toe slingbacks and Coach Kisslock frame woven bag, I have unlocked yet another new fave outfit that I want to wear on repeat!

So, what's next?

(I may have returned this and re-bought it online when my size came back in stock so I could get Ferran 7 on the back, oops!)
