Let me preface this by saying that I left my job halfway through July, I also had 2 weeks annual leave in June. This is very important when you see the size of the ‘Watched lately’ section. Please bear in mind that this was two months worth of TV/film consumed before you judge me. Actually, you can fully judge me because I’m equally split between feeling mortified and impressed that I actually watched that much, the fact there are literal series in there too is WILD. Considering I spent the best part of those 2 months watching the World Cup, I don’t know how I had time for anything else.
Firstly, thanks to my Netflix subscription which saw me get every single pennies worth from it because looking at that list, it’s ludicrous. I’ve also been clearing out my DVD collection because it’s officially out of hand, so finally I watched a bunch of films I’ve had for years but never actually seen hoping I could cull a few at least (I did, HOORAY!), especially some golden oldies and old school musicals.
There are so truly brilliant Netflix documentaries about at the moment, but there were also so many true crime ones I’d still not watched so I jumped on them too, like American Murder Gabby Petito, Evil Influencer: The Jodi Hildebrandt Story, Should I Marry a Murderer to name a few. Some of my fave TV shows also came out with a new seasons like XO, Kitty, Good Omens, Ransom Canyon and Rivals, what a treat they have all been.
I’m finally back in my reading mood again, I’ve read/listened to a few books, Lisa Jewell has become a new favourite author who I suddenly need to read every book by (I’m currently only on my second book of hers but I’m hooked), I’ve been mixing up some light, easy reading with some heavier thriller/crime books which has been a good mental balance.
Honestly, I feel like I’ve had 2 months of solely listening to Dry Spell by Kacey Mugraves, and whilst I know that isn’t strictly true, I can’t wait to see how high that ranks in my Spotify Wrapped this year. Life Is a Highway by Rascal Flatts was unavoidable thanks to the ITV coverage of the World Cup but I swear I belted it out every ad break like the embarrassment I am.
