April 2026 has been renamed Dandelion month because I’ve listened to pretty much nothing other than Ella Langley’s Dandelion all month (with a sprinkling of Noah Kahan), what did she put in that album to make it so damn addictive? Currently no thoughts in my head other than Froggy Went a Courtin’.
It’s been a heavy Paramount+ month (making the most of the £2.99 p/m offer right now!) where I feel like all I’ve watched is Landman and the Yellowstone spin-off Marsals but they’re so good I help myself. Truly feel like I’ve missed a bunch of things off this list for April, even though I did watch less that month due to being super busy, but has anyone else found that there’s not been that much great stuff out lately? May definitely changed that though!
I can’t lie, I have not listened to Joy Next Door by The Maine anywhere near as much as I should have for my favourite band, but it is so good! Mix that in with Noah Kahan releasing The Great Divide, it’s been one heck of a music month, the level of excitement to see both of these live at the back end of this year is ridiculous.
May saw a lot of reading/audiobook listening (I won’t lie, I’m trying to consume as much as I can so I can cull my physical book collection - it’s truly out of hand), a lot of new TV/film but also rewatching a few golden oldies. After recommending The OC to a new colleague, I had to back up my level of enthusiasm by starting to have another good watch myself. 20 years on and it’s still one of my all-time faves.
