MAY ENTERTAINMENT ROUND-UP

May has been and gone already, can you actually believe it? Without running the risk of sounding like someone already firmly in her thirties, it’s ridiculous how fast seems to fly by, I swear it was Christmas just six weeks ago.

Considering the glorious weather, the multiple London trips, the many plans I’ve actually had, it’s a miracle I had time to watch/read/listen to anything at all. Surprisingly my watch list was really high, I’m a serial binge, what can I say?

My Supernatural rewatch ended slightly more prematurely than I would have hoped (season 6) due to the expiry of my Amazon Prime trial (although I have all fifteen seasons on DVD for that reason so really I have no excuse), that’s something to resume in June for sure. I thoroughly enjoyed Turkish Netflix drama Thank You, Next (dubbed but don’t let that put you off) and I really hope there’s going to be a third season because the ending was too abrupt! The Handmaid’s Tale is back for it’s final season and I’m both bereft and relieved, its such an incredible show that I love, but honestly my anxiety levels are through the roof every episode so is it really worth it? Jokes aside, I’m really interested to see how all of the loose ends are tied up and need to binge-watch the rest of the available episodes to watch the rest of the season in real time, I do not need final episode spoilers. Also, if there’s one takeaway from my watched list, it’s go to Netflix immediately (after reading this) and watch Nonna’s, it’s so previous and wholesome, based on a true story, I’m itching to visit the restaurant in Staten Island where these grandmothers still cook traditional Italian recipes.

My reading list has been exceptionally small this month (I’m preparing to read an obscene amount whilst laying in the sun this week so that’s my excuse) but I did listen to the Emily Henry’s Great Big Beautiful Life audiobook which I truly loved. I adore Emily’s books anyway but this one was the real deal. Don’t read Fake Flame by Adele Buck, I urge you, it’s taken me 3 months to complete and then when I finished it I left it in a hotel room so I didn’t have to see the cover again. What a glowing recommendation.

Finally, I’m back on my My Favourite Murder podcast binge, I’ve been listening for about 8 years and there are still so many episodes I’ve not listened to but every episode hits so well. If you’ve never listened to it, and you’re interested n true crime (and comedy), get on this asap! Other than this, I’ve had my ‘Early Morning’ playlist on repeat, especially to wake me up at 4am on my early shift work days, which features a healthy portion of the songs listed below. Because of there’s one thing I can’t do without, it’s a super early morning without music to bring me to life.
