2024 VISION BOARD ACHIEVEMENTS

Well well well, it’s been a hot minute hasn’t it? Did you think I’d forgotten about this old thing? Did you think I’d stopped writing? Did you think I was simply too busy to sit my bum on a chair, put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard? Well, you’d be kind of right, but I’ve also been v uninspired and lazy too.

It’s actually bonkers how much time I spend daily thinking about writing or creating content versus how much I actually spend emptying my brain and satisfying that itch. Apparently I’m a sadist who doesn’t understand the joy of self-satisfaction, or rather I do, I just don’t delve in it fine enough. But enough about my procrastination or that hint of self-loathing that crept in there, I don’t like her, she’s banned.

2024 was a fun year, despite it being a relatively calm year for me, I achieved things, went places and gave myself a few reasons to smile. It was also the first year I’d created a vision board for myself (working on New Years Day has its perks I guess), and. A list to go along with it, to try to push myself to achieve some things and give myself a little bit of structure to propel me through the year. Okay, so I didn’t tick off everything, or even half of the list, but for a self-proclaimed princess of procrastination, it’s a start. Just so you know, I did indeed just give myself a pat on the back, in the middle of a coffee shop.

Achievements

New piercings

I’ve been after more piercings for well over a decade but I just haven’t committed to getting one done since my last nose piercing at 17. Finally, in 2023, I had my tragus pierced after wanting it done since I was in college, and I caught the bug again, I had to have more done. In 2024, I had my rook and daith pierced (opposite ends of the year because the rook hurt like nothing I’ve felt before and after getting it done in February, I could only stomach another one in November), I really don’t know how I managed to out myself through the pain of another one after my rook but apparently I’m a sucker for punishment (and hallelujah the pain of my daith was so minimal in comparison).

Read 20 books

By the end of last year, I’d racked up a reading list of 43 books! I don’t know why I always set such low reading goals when I know I’ll smash them, but for months like the end of the year when I have very little energy for reading, if I hit a low goal then I’ve still achieved something. This year I’ve definitely gone higher though.

100 sales

2024 far surpassed the volume of Strawberry Saturday sales I anticipated, I’m absolutely stunned by how well the year went! The 100 sales goal was intended with the combination of the items I sold in 2023 (the start of my small business) and the total of 2024, one I easily smashed very early on in the year, in fact I almost doubled that goal by the end of last year!

Job Promotion

Okay, whilst I didn’t actually achieve a promotion, I was seconded for a couple of months in a higher role which blew my mind because I often limit what I believe my capabilities are, and underestimate what others believe I’m capable of too. And it looks like I’ll be back in the role for the majority of 2025 too!

Say Yes

I’m very proud of this one, it’s not something you can measure but instead something you can feel within yourself. I’ve always been the person to either say no or maybe, but last year I wanted to say yes a lot more, yes to experiences, yes to plans, yes to anything that might take me out of my comfort zone but something that may make me live a little more. Saying yes really gave me such joy last year and it’s one of my new life mottos.

Away Game

This goal was intended for attending a football match (either Man City or England) away from home, either at a new ground or different country, it didn’t quite work out that way but I still attended a solo game at Wembley Stadium for Man City v Chelsea in the FA Cup! It counts okay? It counts.

The fact I put myself so far out of my comfort zone for this and headed to Wembley alone, that was an even bigger win for me.

Friendships

Friendships have been a really interesting one this past year, I’ve made new close friends, worked on some older friendships, and right now I’m feeling so happy and content with the people I have around me, I really am ridiculously lucky.

Work in progress

Work on skin

This is a really tricky one and something I really worked on earlier in the year. I’ve had troubles with my face for many years, and last May I started taking medication again for it and trying different treatments to help improve it. I ended the year on a low point with my skin but it’s something I’m still working on and won’t give up.

2K on IG

I started 2024 on over 1.5K so I figured that with a bit of grafting, this should be a relatively easy one, all until I read countless Threads about how removing a bunch of bot/inactive followers would help your growth. It might work for some, but not for me. I removed around 500 followers and managed to grow 60-70 in the year. However, with that being said, I became a lot more consistent with posting last year, I managed to post daily since the beginning of June  until early January which is unheard for me and something some of my friends got a kick out of when were out and I said ‘one sec, I just need to post on IG before I forget’.

Lose 1st

This one has been a bit all over the place the past year, I might not have thoroughly stuck to it, but I ended the year lighter than I started it at least. In 2024 I treated my body well for the most part, or rather I treated myself well, I’ve (mostly) eaten healthier, cooked much more and exercise more than I ever have before which is something I didn’t even realise I wanted/needed to achieve for my mental wellbeing. I just love a HIIT workout - I’m not too sure my downstairs neighbours do though.

A lot of these have been transferred onto my new vision board because maybe I couldn’t achieve them last year or they’re something I want to continue working on this year. But setting myself goals for the year has been so fun and rewarding, setting my vision board as my phone, iPad and laptop background has kept me largely on track, and something I really needed to keep motivated.

What have you got on your own vision boards?
