This shirt had my heart the moment I saw it, so when I visited Lisbon last year, I treated myself to it for the 2 Portugal games I was attending. Naturally, being the RĂºben Dias enthusiast I am, he was my first choice player to have printed. Bernardo, you’re up next.
Admittedly, I haven’t worn it quite as much as I expected but it’s still had a fair amount of outings. Maybe the incorrect number being printed on the shirt holds a small amount of weight in my decision to wear it but I still love it endlessly.
This was my very first non-England national team shirt, and whilst I’ll always support England, having Portugal to support too makes me really happy (and just means more football shirts - like the Spain one I’ve now bought too - oops).
Usually I wear the shirt with denim shorts or jeans, the typical football shirt styling, however during the World Cup I popped it on with a pair of shorts in a last minute attempt to ensure I stayed cool during the heatwave, which turned out to be a new fave ‘throw-on’ outfit.
Loosely tucked into a pair of M&S’s black & white gingham shorts, the vibrancy of the shirt’s red really pops against the monochrome. Paired with my trusty New Balance and my Coach Kisslock multicoloured shoulder bag, this felt so causal yet cute and a little different way to style a national team football shirt.
I just might have to take this with me to wear for my next Portugal game in Porto!
What shirt would you like to see me style next?
S xo
